Paul Zarraga - Biodata

Paul Zarraga has an extensive background as an educator, trainer, consultant and drama teacher. He has presented at conferences the length of breadth of Turkey and was one half of The Henry Brothers an irreverant ELT double act. He was a presenter on the television programme, Ingilizce (English) on Turkish television (TRT OKUL) and has most recently been performing with Pop Up Theatre as part of their successful audio theatre series in which he plays Sherlock Holmes. He believes in the importance of curiosity, that we must keep learning and innovating, for as the great sleuth himself said, ‘Education never ends, Watson. It is a series of lessons with the greatest for last.’

Drama in English (DiE) provides learners with a realistic need for communicating and attempts to bridge the gap between the kind of carefully controlled language work that is often done in the classroom and the complexity of unpredictable language and behavior we are confronted with in the outside world. It is generally accepted that in order to make the learning process more meaningful and memorable, we not only need to tap our learners’ intellects, but should also attempt to engage them physically and emotionally. During this hands on workshop I’ll look at the structure of a typical drama lesson focusing less on the why and more on the how to. Packed full of practical, take away stuff -  or your money back!!!
